Two tools. Two answers.

When Optimizely runs in isolation, its results rarely match anything else your team reports on.

What's included

Wired into your stack.

We connect Optimizely to the tools that need its data, and to the systems it needs for better targeting.

Map the data

A shared spec for experiment IDs, variant names, events and user IDs, so every tool refers to the same test in the same way.

Connect your analytics

Optimizely decisions sent to GA4, Amplitude, Mixpanel or Segment, so you can break results down by any dimension your analytics holds.

Sync customer attributes

CRM or CDP fields from HubSpot, Salesforce or Segment passed into Optimizely as attributes for identified visitors.

Fit your release workflow

Flags and experiments tied to your CI pipeline, with clean-up rules so finished tests do not leave dead code behind.

Security, by consideration.

Trust is part of the build.

For your Optimizely project, we consider publishing access, experiments, audience data and connected services as part of one connected build.

Changes you can trace.

GitHub workflows, peer review and dependency checks bring decisions into the release process.

Protected in transit.

Certificate configuration, HTTPS and secure headers help protect the path between your users and your systems.

Intelligence with limits.

Scoped tool access, validated inputs and human approval where automated actions carry consequences.

Connected and checked.

Every integration is tested with a live experiment before we call it done.

Optimizely integration questions.

A few things worth discussing before your Optimizely integrations takes shape.

How do you connect Optimizely to GA4?

Optimizely connects to GA4 through its built-in analytics integration or a custom event that pushes the experiment and variant to the data layer. We check that each visitor's variant appears in GA4, then build explorations so you can segment test results by any GA4 dimension.

Why do Optimizely and GA4 show different experiment results?

Optimizely and GA4 show different experiment results because they count visitors, sessions and conversions differently, and ad blockers or consent affect each one. Small gaps are normal. Large gaps usually mean the variant is not passed correctly, which we find by comparing counts at each step.

Can Optimizely use audiences from our CRM?

Optimizely can use CRM audiences when CRM fields are passed to it as custom attributes or through a customer data platform. We send fields such as plan, industry or lifecycle stage for identified visitors, without raw personal data. Anonymous visitors fall back to behaviour-based audiences.

How long does an Optimizely integration take to build?

A GA4 connection is quick. Syncing CRM attributes and wiring experiments into your release pipeline takes longer. Every integration is tested with a live experiment before handover.
