Ideas stuck in the queue.

Most testing programmes are limited by development time, not by ideas.

What's included

The build side of testing.

Your team owns the ideas and the decisions. We write and ship the code between them.

Integrate the SDK

Feature Experimentation SDKs installed in your frontend and backend, with a datafile strategy that keeps decisions fast and consistent across requests.

Deliver each experiment

Web variants written as clean custom code, or feature tests built behind flags, released on a schedule your product team can plan around.

Implement audiences

Login state, plan and account data passed to Optimizely as attributes, so audiences target real customers instead of cookie guesses.

Validate every release

Bucketing, event firing and variant rendering checked on each device before launch, and again whenever your site deploys new code.

QA checklist for one experiment: each variant screenshotted on desktop and mobile, events confirmed in the Optimizely preview, bucketing verified. Proves nothing launches unchecked.

Security, by consideration.

Trust is part of the build.

For your Optimizely project, we consider publishing access, experiments, audience data and connected services as part of one connected build.

Changes you can trace.

GitHub workflows, peer review and dependency checks bring decisions into the release process.

Protected in transit.

Certificate configuration, HTTPS and secure headers help protect the path between your users and your systems.

Intelligence with limits.

Scoped tool access, validated inputs and human approval where automated actions carry consequences.

Built, checked, shipped.

Each experiment moves through the same three steps.

  1. 01

    Scope the build

We review the test brief, pick Web or Feature Experimentation and estimate the build.

    • Technical brief
    • Product choice
    • Build estimate
  2. 02

    Build and QA

Variants coded, reviewed and tested across browsers, devices and audiences.

    • Variant code
    • QA report
    • Preview links
  3. 03

    Release and watch

Launch, confirm the first events arrive and monitor until the test ends.

    • Launch checklist
    • Event checks
    • Release notes

Optimizely development questions.

A few things worth discussing before your Optimizely development takes shape.

What is the difference between Optimizely Web Experimentation and Feature Experimentation?

Optimizely Web Experimentation changes pages in the browser through a JavaScript snippet and visual editor. Feature Experimentation runs tests inside your code through SDKs, on the server or in apps, using flags. Web suits marketing pages and quick changes. Feature suits product logic, pricing, search and anything the snippet cannot reach.

Do we need a developer to run Optimizely experiments?

You need a developer for most Optimizely experiments beyond text and colour swaps. The visual editor handles simple changes, but new layouts, new components and anything in Feature Experimentation need code. A developer who knows Optimizely also keeps tests from breaking when your site ships new releases.

How do you prevent flicker in Optimizely Web Experimentation?

Flicker in Optimizely Web Experimentation is prevented by loading the snippet synchronously in the page head and keeping variant code light. We also watch snippet size, use Performance Edge where it fits and avoid variants that wait on slow elements. For heavy changes, a server-side test is often cleaner.

How much does Optimizely development cost?

Cost depends on how many tests you run each month, how complex the variants are and whether the Feature Experimentation SDK needs integrating first. We scope a first batch of tests so you can see the cost per experiment.
